The most identifiable feature of maple trees is their lobed leaves. Maple trees commonly have green lobed leaves that change their color to red, yellow, orange, and dark burgundy in the fall. The way in which the leaves are turning can help to indicate whether the problem is. Maple trees have dark brown furrowed bark, small, winged fruits, and narrow reddish-brown twigs. If it's not iron chlorosis, the tree may have over-produced leaves in the spring (leaves are "cheap" for a tree to make) and is now shedding the innermost leaves that are in the interior canopy. Red maple trees are known for their reddish-orange fall foliage, which gives them their name. Chlorosis is a condition that makes leaves turn prematurely yellow. This disease usually occurs during late summer or early fall, especially if there has been a period of drought. The branches will weaken and the trees’ lives are threatened. Once established, the Amur maple will have some drought resistance. The 'Embers' and 'Flame' varieties have especially vibrant fall colors in both leaves and fruit. The infected leaves eventually become brown and drop off. Fall leaf color is red, with yellows sometimes also appearing. This will be something you need to do once per year - the tree will likely go into gradual decline over time. Maple tree leaves turn yellow when suffering bacterial leaf scorch, which is caused by a bacterium. Find an iron chelate that is EDDHA or EDMA (avoid EDTA, which is a less expensive form of iron and also not as effective) and mix it according to the instructions and pour it at the base of the tree.
